ArtOS-6B
An interactive installation examining what happens when Artificial Intelligence’s data-based and simulated artistic reality confronts human visitors’ thoughts and feelings about art.
ArtOS-6B is an artificial intelligence algorithm created to spark and provoke reflective thinking about subjects related to the art world. Having been trained upon an extensive dataset of human discourse, ArtOS-6B has been created with its own unique machine-generated view of art. Hereby, within the installation, visitors are invited to engage in a direct discussion with the AI algorithm itself.
When ArtOS-6B answers you, fact and fiction are fused. The artificial intelligence challenges your view of yourself and your artistic reality, so you do not consider the art through your usual filter.
In the conversation with ArtOS-6B, the divide between the real and the virtual, between man and the machine and between the artist and the viewer is broken down: Who is it that really creates what you experience: Is it the machine? The artist? Or is it you as a spectator who has the power?
